Gandhi had said, "I want a clean India, and then independence." For Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, one of his fervent disciples, this sentence will become the mission of a lifetime. Indeed, he developed several concepts of dry toilets offering a sanitary solution accessible to all and also allowing emancipate the "untouchables" by offering them an alternative to the manual cleaning of latrines.
