Facilitating the integration of women from rural exodus by learning the reading and writing
In Turkey, many rural families migrate to the cities to find a better life. And this is particularly the case for a giant megalopolis like Istanbul. For women who can not read or write, adaptation is often difficult. Since 2007, in Esenler, Melek has opened a dedicated center to facilitate the integration of these women - especially through reading and writing classes - and improve their daily life in the city.
